U-of-L Season Opener Set for Tomorrow

by scrosby on September 4, 2009

University of Louisville Head Football Coach Steve Kragthorpe says his team is ready for its first game of the season tomorrow. The Cards will take on Indiana State University, a team that has lost its last 27 games, including a defeat last week at the hands of the NAIA’s Quincy University.

Kragthorpe says teams that have lost so many games in a row are sometimes dangerous.

“When you play a game against a team that is not a division one team, it’s a situation for them,” says Kragthorpe, “and I’ve been in those situations where it’s everything to gain and nothing to lose, we anticipate seeing a lot of tricks in the special teams.”

The Cards are coming off a 5-and-7 season. Kickoff is set for tomorrow evening at 7:30.

UK opens play Saturday against Miami of Ohio.
