City Seeking Input On River Road Improvements

by Gabe Bullard on June 15, 2009

Louisville Metro Government will host a public forum Tuesday night to discuss improvements to parts of River Road.

Mayor’s spokesperson Chris Poynter to says the city would like to add bike and pedestrian trails and create the River Road Scenic Bypass between Zorn Avenue and Highway 42.

“Our plan has always been, from the beginning, for the City of Parks initiative and the 100 mile Louisville Loop that will eventually circle the city, that 100 mile loop will in some way include the River Road corridor,” he says.

The city is working with the City of Glenview, conservation group River Fields and architectural, historic and engineering consultants on the project. A study on the planned improvements to River Road is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
