Former heavyweight boxing champion Greg Page has died at his Louisville home of complications from injuries he suffered in a 2001 fight. He was 50.
Page held the World Boxing Association heavyweight title from December of 1984 until April of 1985. It was during a comeback attempt eight years ago against Dale Crowe in northern Kentucky that Page suffered injuries that left him permanently disabled.
“He had to constantly battle those complications to stay alive. He just showed by example that he had an inner strength and courage to do just that,” said family friend Christopher 2x
Funeral arrangements for Greg Page are pending.
