WHAS-TV staff members are mourning the loss of a colleague.
Reporter Chuck Olmstead passed away early Tuesday, two weeks after suffering a brain aneurysm.
General Manager Mark Pimentel says despite the seriousness of his condition, Olmstead’s passing was a surprise.
“We’d all hoped that Chuck would respond well to the treatment after the aneurysm and come back and he had been getting better so we were candidly shocked that this happened,” he says.
Olmstead, a native of Boston, started at WHAS in 1975. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
Visitation and a “Celebration of Life” service will be held Saturday at Caanan Christian Church, 2840 Hikes Lane.
