The Kentucky Board of Education will meet this week in Louisville.
Spokesperson Lisa Gross says on Wednesday the board will tour the Kentucky School for the Blind and conduct a business session on campus.
“Then they will meet on Thursday and interview candidates for a search firm to look for our new commissioner,” Gross said.
The board is looking for a successor to Commissioner Jon Draud, who stepped down early this year for health reasons.
Gross says the board hopes to have a new leader in place no later than the end of the calendar year.
