Liberation & the Cosmos: Conversations with the Elders
Martin Luther King, Jr. Nina Simone. Thurgood Marshall. Tupac Shakur. What could these departed notables teach us about social justice, culture, freedom, and the meaning of the struggle for African-American liberation? That’s the topic of a recent book by theology professor Barbara Holmes, called “Liberation & the Cosmos: Conversations with the Elders.” In it, Dr. Holmes explores themes of race and freedom, and how studying cosmology can bring us to a deeper understanding of them.
