Louisville Debris Pickup Begins Today

Curbside ice storm debris pickup begins today in Louisville. It will take several weeks for city crews to reach everyone’s home.

Louisville Public Works and MSD crews start their canvas of the city today, picking up the numerous tree limbs brought down by the storm. Mayor Jerry Abramson says they’ll follow the same pickup map created after last September’s windstorm, but in opposite order.

“It appears, based on the feedback we’re receiving from folks in the field, that we probably have fewer large trees and perhaps even less overall debris than we had during the windstorm,” says Abramson.

The service maps can be found at the city’s website or through MetroCall.

FEMA announced last week it will reimburse up to 75-percent of the costs of the storm, including debris removal.
