The Center for Interfaith Relations is hosting an inauguration party in Louisville Tuesday evening that will focus on responsibility.
The “From Hope to Change” party will celebrate President-Elect Barack Obama’s inauguration, but center spokesperson Mark Steiner says the party’s theme is service, not politics.
“This is not a partisan event,” he says. “We feel like this is an historic moment for all citizens and we hope that everyone in the community will take advantage of it as a moment to really make a commitment to contributing to a better tomorrow.”
Steiner says information on volunteer and service opportunities in Louisville will be available at the party, which begins at 7pm Tuesday at the First Unitarian Church.
