Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson says he’s pleased with the U.S. House’s $825 billion stimulus proposal.
The package cleared a House committee last week.
Abramson was among several mayors who advised the Obama transition team on the stimulus. He says he’s reviewed the legislation and is happy with what it would bring to Louisville.
“Funds for our school system, modernization of buildings, funds for roads, funds for the new sewer lines, expanded water lines, the opportunity to create energy efficiencies for all the public buildings,” he says.
Debate on the package will continue next week in Washington.
