Passenger Traffic Down At Louisville International Airport

by Rick Howlett on December 30, 2008

The executive director of Louisville’s Regional Airport Authority says passenger traffic in 2008 at Louisville International Airport was down about 3.5%.

But Skip Miller says that number is relatively low, given the year’s economic volatility, and the airport was coming off a strong performance the previous year.

“Keep in mind that 2007 was the third best year on record at Louisville International Airport,”  Miller said.

Miller delivered his annual year-end briefing Tuesday, along with a look ahead to 2009. He says the industry faces an uncertain new year in light of the nation’s economic recession and another potential swing in fuel prices.
