The Louisville area is in the throes of a severe cold snap, but forecasters say it will be over soon.
Much of Kentucky and Indiana was under a wind chill advisory this morning, but temperatures should be warming up soon. National Weather Service in Louisville forecaster Marilyn Scholz says temperatures will rise gradually tomorrow, with some precipitation starting midday.
“There’s still uncertainty about how fast that temperature is going to recover,” says Scholz, “there could be a travel problem late tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night.”
Scholz says that precipitation could come in the form of freezing rain if its still below 32-degrees tomorrow.
But – she says – it will warm up on Wednesday and Thursday, virtually eliminating the chance for a white Christmas.
