First Lady Laura Bush visited Kentucky Monday to take part in an election-eve push for GOP candidates.
“The choices you make tomorrow will affect the course of our nation’s history for years to come. Thank you for everything you’re doing to support John McCain and Sarah Palin and Brett Guthrie and Kentucky’s Republican candidates,” Mrs. Bush said during her ten-minute speech.
Brett Guthrie is the GOP nominee for the Second District congressional seat left vacant by the retirement of Republican Ron Lewis. Guthrie is locked in a close battle with Democrat David Boswell.
Boswell says he respects Mrs. Bush but believes voters are ready for a new direction in the district and across the state.
