Mail Delivery Continues In Louisville Area

by Rick Howlett on September 15, 2008

The U.S. Postal Service in Louisville says mail delivery is proceeding as usual but there could be some delays.

Postmaster Steve Gregory says carriers will try to get to every mailbox.

“There will be, I’m sure, a number of streets that we either can’t get down because of trees down or power lines, but we’re making an attempt,” Gregory said.

As of Monday afternoon, nine Louisville area post offices had electricity and were open.

They are:
Baxter Post Office, 1527 Highland Avenue
Buechel Post Office, 2259 Hikes Lane
Fern Creek Post Office, 6302 Bardstown Road
Fourth Street Post Office 400 S. Fourth Street
Main Post Office, 1420 Gardiner Lane
New Albany Post Office 145 E. Elm Street
Standiford Field Post Office, 4440 Crittenden Drive
Shively Post Office, 3131 Crums Lane
Valley Station Post Office, 10642 Dixie Highway
