Third Shift Spared at Ford Plant

by Todd Mundt on August 15, 2008

A Ford Motor Company spokesperson says the automaker is keeping all three shifts of body and paint workers at the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville.

Ford’s decision will spare 230 jobs on the line.

The spokesperson says the company reversed plans to shut down one shift at the truck plant and, instead, will keep all three shifts running as it prepares to move production of the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition SUV’s from Michigan to Louisville.

The move is scheduled to take place later this year.
