Discussions about redevelopment possibilities for large industrial area of Louisville begin Tuesday.
Louisville Metro Government is seeking proposals for the Park Hill industrial corridor, directly west of Old Louisville. The area currently houses several industries, but Assistant Director of Economic Development Susan Hamilton says its vacant areas have great potential, given their proximity to U of L and UPS.
Hamilton does acknowledge the area has a few shortcomings when it comes to transportation.
“The area is centrally located and near interstates and near UPS and near the central business district,” she says. “But in certain instances it’s difficult for trucks to move through the area to move goods and services.”
The Park Hill industrial corridor sits on approximately 14,000 acres.
