Kentucky Commerce Cabinet to Change Name

by scrosby on June 9, 2008

The Kentucky Commerce Cabinet will soon be known as the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet. Spokesperson Gil Lawson says they’re renaming several departments within the Cabinet as well. The Department of Tourism’s name will change to the Department of Travel. But he says there will be no personnel cuts related to the reorganization.

“We are not changing any job status. Some people may be reassigned to newly named agencies, but it does not mean any job losses or pay loss or anything like that. It’s basically the name change to better reflect what our agency does,” he said.

The name changes take effect next Monday.
