Rain Could Bring More Flooding

The Louisville area has seen a break from rain over the last couple of days, but it’s about to be over. A new rain system is bringing more flooding concerns.

Louisville National Weather Service forecaster Mike Callahan says average rainfall at this point in the year for the area is about one-foot. So far, Louisville has gotten about nine-inches more than that. Callahan says more rain will start Wednesday.

“The lighter rain probably won’t cause any problems on Wednesday. We are a little concerned about the rain on Friday, it could add up to about an inch, which shouldn’t cause too many serious problems on the rivers, but it could cause some problems with small streams and urban areas flooding,” said Callahan.

As for Thunder Over Louisville, Callahan says it’ll probably still be rainy – and cooler – with highs in the low 50s.
