Three Kentucky teams resume play this week in the N-C-A-A men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.

In the men’s tournament, the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have advanced to the Sweet Sixteen round for the first time since 1993. Coach Darrin Horn says many people are just discovering that this is a talented basketball team.

“Which we’ve been saying all year about this group, and I don’t think a lot of people believed us or stuck with us at times when some of those games didn’t go the way we wanted them to, but I think everybody knows it now.”

Western Kentucky takes on top-seeded UCLA Thursday night in the West Region semifinal in Phoenix. Tipoff is 9:40pm Eastern time.

Meanwhile, the Louisville Cardinals are preparing for their Thursday matchup with Tennessee in the men’s East Region semifinal at Charlotte. That game begins shortly before 10:00pm.

In the women’s tournament, Louisville takes on Kansas State in second round play Tuesday at Bridgeport, Connecticut. Tipoff is 7:00pm.
