Volleyball Tour Could Lead To Scholarships For Women

by Gabe Bullard on February 26, 2008

The U.S. Association of Volleyball Professionals tour will stop in Louisville again this year, and tour officials hope it provides some inspiration for high school girls to go to college.

American Volleyball Olympic hopeful Jennifer Boss says there are a lot of educational opportunities for young women who take up the sport.

Women get 12 to 13 scholarships for each school,” says Boss. “And men, at SC where I went, they had four.”

Boss will be on the volleyball tour when it stops in Louisville on Memorial Day weekend.

Other cities hosting tour stops include Cincinnati, Boston and Chicago.
